Lois Fayrene Michael passed away at her home in Mesquite, Texas on February 16, 2016. She was born on January 14, 1936 at Pleasant Hill community in Lamar County to Mack Henry Kirby and Mamie Brewer Kirby. She graduated from West Lamar High School in 1955.She then moved to Dallas to live with her cousin Ellan Kirby and was employed by Sears and Roebuck. One day a young man Joe Michael was setting in front of the apartment house where Fayrene and Ellan lived.He saw Fayrene walk up the sidewalk and go into the apartment building.He thought she was beautiful and wanted to find out who she was. It just happend Ellan was dating Henry, who was a friend of Joe's and Joe found out the girl he wanted to meet was Ellan's cousin.Joe got to meet Fayrene and they started dating.Joe Paul Michael, of Evant, TX and Lois Fayrene Kirby was married on March 29, 1958.They had a son, John Shelby and a daughter, Ruth Shawn.They lived most of their married life in Mesquite, TX.They celebrated their 50th Anniversary in 2008. Joe always said the smartest thing he ever did was marry Fayrene Kirby.She was an active member of Mimosa Lane Baptist Church for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Paul; son, John Shelby; daughter, Ruth Shawn Chappell; her parents, Mack and Mamie Kirby. She is survived by two grandsons, Colton Shelby Chappell and Joel Conner Chappell; her cousins, Nelda Kirby Benoit, Gene Kirby, Cleon Kirby Crossland; special cousin, Ellan Kirby Milligan; Shirley Brewer Schultz; sister-in-law, Inez Michael. The family is thankful for Vivian Harrison who took such good care of Fayrene the last 6 years. Fayrene was a beautiful woman with strong Christian values and character.Fayrene was a special cousin and we are goint to miss her sweet smile.
