WARREN, Linelle Clarkeformerly of Forney, TX.born December 22, 1915, in Grimesland, North Carolina; passed away January 6, 2012 in Richardson, TX. In 1936 she received a BA degree from East Carolina Teacher College, now East Carolina University. Following this she did graduate work at Duke University. Afterwards she taught English in several schools. After her marriage to Cecil Clayton Warren on December 23, 1944 she moved to Texas and earned a MA degree from East Texas Teachers College, now Texas A&M University at Commerce. Then she resumed her teaching career, which lasted thirty-two years. She taught at Chicota High School and then at Kemp High School before moving to Forney. At Forney High School she became both teacher and friend of many students who remember her dedication and love of learning. She had a way of teaching that included preparation for life outside the classroom. Linelle was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church. She was a faithful member of Forney United Methodist Church and was active in United Methodist Women and Booster Class for Women. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post 591. She was preceded in death by her husband; 2 brothers; three sisters; her father, James H. Clarke; her mother, Daisy Porter Clarke and second mother Roxie Abernathy Clarke. Survived by children, Harry Clark Warren & wife, Kate; John Wayne Warren & sister-in-law, Nooney Clarkeof Ft. Worth; brother-in-law, Noah J. Buck & wife, Ann of Greenville, North Carolina; sister-in-law, Joy Clarke of Greenville, North Carolina; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Her many friends will remember her as a loving and caring friend. Service will be 2:00PM Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church, 414 W. Broad St, Forney, TX. 75126. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 5:00PM " 7:00PM.
