Linda Lee, a compassionate and vivacious woman, passed away on June 26, 2023, at the age of 80. She was born on November 9, 1942, in Dallas, Texas to her loving parents Jimmie Wallace Dorff and Ina Mae Seale Dorff. Linda lived a remarkable life filled with love, joy, and memorable adventures.
Linda's education journey culminated with her graduation from Bryan Adams High School in 1961. Throughout her life, Linda embraced various professional opportunities. She worked for the City of Dallas and had the privilege of being associated with Mobil and ARCO. Showing her adventurous spirit, Linda attended and graduated Travel School in Switzerland. This experience led her to acquire a Travel school in San Antonio where she founded her own business called Mesquite Travel Agency. As a passionate tour operator, Linda organized countless trips for numerous individuals, allowing them to explore the world and create lifelong memories.
Beyond work achievements, Linda treasured every moment she could spend with her beloved husband Jimmy Jake Lee. Their marriage began on January 1, 1981, and their love grew stronger with each passing year. Together, they embarked on exciting journeys around the globe and shared countless cherished memories along the way.
One of Linda's greatest joys was being a dedicated wife and mother. Her unwavering love for her family knew no bounds; she would do anything to ensure their happiness. Linda's devotion extended to her children: Kevin Shelton and his wife Tracy, Darla Shelton Dilodovico and her husband Paul; as well as her step-children Chris Lee and Terry Lee. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart: Tiffani Shelton DeGroot, Kendra Shelton Fagan, Spencer Shelton, Leigh Shelton Tomlinson, Sarah Simeon McKinley, Drake Dilodovico, Sophie Dilodovico. Furthermore, Linda was blessed with great-grandchildren who brought immeasurable joy to her life: Haleigh DeGroot, Dylan DeGroot, Jacob DeGroot, Zoe Fagan, Jaxon Fagan, Ryker Shelton, Paisley Shelton, Ruby Tomlinson, August Tomlinson, and Greyson McKinley.
Linda's zest for life was characterized by her love for ceramics and travel. She found solace and creative expression in ceramics. Additionally, Linda's passion for travel allowed her to explore different cultures and expand her horizons. These experiences enriched her life and inspired her to guide others in their own adventures.
Linda leaves behind a profound legacy of love and compassion. She joins her parents, Jimmie Wallace Dorff and Ina May Seale Dorff, as well as her sister Mary Kathryn Weber in eternal rest. Her memory will be cherished by her siblings Carol Elliot and Jimmy Dorff.
To honor the life of Linda Lee, a visitation will take place on July 3, 2023, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the New Hope Funeral Home - State Room located at 500 E. Hwy 80 in Sunnyvale. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at the New Hope Funeral Home - Chapel from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Finally, Linda will be laid to rest during the burial ceremony at Heath Cemetery in Heath which will take place from 3:30 PM to 4:00 PM.
Linda Lee's indomitable spirit and unwavering love for her family will forever be remembered and cherished in our hearts. May she find eternal peace in the embrace of everlasting serenity.
