Linda Dianne Hall

HALL, Linda of Mesquite went to be with her Lord on January 20, 2014.Linda passed away after a valiant six and one half year battle with ovarian cancer.She was the wife of Chuck Hall of Mesquite.She was the daughter of Glen and Pat Daugherty of Brenham, TX. Linda was born in Levelland, Texas on December 2, 1962.Her childhood was spent in Westerville, Ohio.She attended and graduated from Brenham High School.She furthered her education at Sam Houston State University, graduating with a B.S. in Social Work.After several years serving as a probation officer in Washington County, Dallas and Los Angeles, she changed careers and went to work for Commercial Union Insurance Company, which eventually merged with Liberty Mutual Insurance.She worked in that capacity in Los Angeles, Kansas City and Boston before transferring to Dallas where she became a systems analyst with Liberty Mutual for 18 years before her illness took over.In 2007 Linda was joined in marriage to Chuck Hall. Linda was a member of Sunnyvale Baptist Church in Mesquite and active in nursery work and her ladies Sunday School Class.With her church group, she and her husband, Chuck enjoyed feeding the homeless in Dallas.Linda was blessed with the friendship of many ladies, both at church and at her work.She was a loving and caring person who enjoyed the successes of others. Linda is predeceased by grandparents, Don & Lois Slocomb, Leonard and Maybell Daugherty, and aunt, Charlotte Guthrie. In addition to her husband, Chuck, she is survived by her parents, Glen and Pat Daugherty; brother, Christopher Daugherty and wife, Carmen; niece and nephew, Caroline and Sam Daugherty; step-son and wife, Cory & Stephanie Hall; grandchildren, Phoenix & Madelyn Hall; aunts, Cynthia Henderson & husband, Donald, and Deborah Graham & husband, Burl; uncles, Val Daugherty & wife, Jane, & Don Slocomb & wife, Carol, many cousins, and special precious dachshund, Bailey Hall.Also surviving her is Shakespeare, her beloved quarter horse. Linda 's funeral service will be held in the chapel of Sunnyvale Baptist Church, 3018 N. Beltline Rd., Mesquite at 10:00AM Saturday January 25, 2014. Burial will be in the family gravesite in Brenham, TX.New Hope Funeral Home of Sunnyvale, TX is in charge of arrangements.
