Lester Wilson, Jr. Surrounded by my loved ones, I defeated cancer on April 7, 2010. During my 15 year battle, I became a mentor for others who also fought and continue to fight the battle against cancer. My journey began on May 18, 1947, in Texarkana, Texas when I was born to Lester and Johnnie Mae Wilson, both of whom preceded me in death. From this union, my younger sister, Cleo Wilson Howard survives me. While living in Texarkana, Texas, I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. Those left with cherished memories of me are my loving wife Sharon; sons, Lester Wilson, III (Ruth Rodriguez-Wilson), Marcus H. Wilson (Kescha Wilson) and Trevor Morris, sisters; Eunive Lindley and Phyllis Adams; grandson, Lester Wilson, IV; granddaughters, Tasha Morales and Leah Wilson and a multitude of other family and friends. I am a faithful member of Pathway of Life Church in Dallas, Texas. Before I became a resident of Mesquite, Texas, I lived in New Jersey from March 1979 to June 2007. During my time in New Jersey, I held the positions of Piscataway Pop Warner Football Parent Auxiliary President, Piscataway Recreation Basketball Coach, President of the Quail Crest II Home Owners Association, and Chairman of the Deacon Board at Eternal Life Christian Center, Somerset, New Jersey. I graduated from Macedonia High School in Texarkana, Texas in 1965. I later went on to serve in the United States Army from 1967 through 1972 where I was Honorably Discharged. I attended the University of Texas at Arlington where I graduated and received my Bachelors of Science degree in Criminal Justice in 1974. I served as a Special Agent for the Federal Bureau of Investigation from October 1976 until my retirement in December 2001. My greatest love is my family, and I enjoy nothing more than sharing a meal with them while talking and telling them stories. Many of my stories are memories of my career as an FBI Special Agent. Other than telling my favorite stories, two of my favorite hobbys are fishing and traveling. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the V foundation for Cancer Research, www.jimmyv.org, The V Foundation, 106 Towerview Court, Cary, North Carolina 27513. Family and friends will be received on Monday, April 12, 2010, from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at the New Hope Funeral Home, 500 East Highway 80, Sunnyvale, Texas 75182. My homegoing celebration will be Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at 10:30AM at the Pathway of Life Church, 8510 Military Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75227. A public viewing will precede my celebration at 10:00AM.
