Lawana Bleakley

Lawana Bleakley, age 86, of Dallas, TX, passed away February 3, 2020, at her home. She was born November 22, 1933 in Quitman, TX to Samul Artemus Hudspeth and Velma Chastain Hudspeth. Lawana worked for the Baptist General Convention of Texas and was a longtime member of Lakeside Baptist Church where she was actively involved in multiple church functions from planning to fruition.She loved go ing on sight-seeing trips with her husband, Robert. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband Robert in 2016; and brothers, Joe Bob Hudspeth and Cecil Hudspeth. Lawana is survived by sister Nelwyn McElyea and brother, Sam Hudspeth and wife Danni; 3 nephews and 4 nieces, sister-in-law Patricia Hudspeth and special cousin Peggy Smith of Bastrop, LA. Services will be at 11:00 AM, February 6, 2020 at New Hope Funeral Home Chapel, 500 E. Highway 80, Sunnyvale, TX. A gathering for family and friends will be held just prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 AM.
