Laverne Woodruff Page Mesquite - Laverne Page peacefully entered the kingdom of heaven on Saturday, January 19, 2013. Laverne was born on March 16, 1928 in Hunt County, Texas as the fifth of eight children to Ira William Woodruff and Louvenie McKay Woodruff.She had 4 brothers and 3 sisters with whom she grew up on their farm in Wolfe City and graduated from Wolfe City High School.She moved to the Dallas area in the late 40's where she started her family and her working career.She was many things to many people, but most importantly, she was the mother of three and grandmother of five, who reaped the benefits of her abounding love. Her working career included assistant ticket manager for the Dallas Eagles Baseball Club, ticket manager for the Dallas Chaparrals Basketball team, and assistant manager of Preston Ticket Agency.She retired in 1993 from Preston State Bank as Personal Banking Specialist. Mrs. Page is survived by; daughter Judy Zuber and husband Karl of Mesquite, son Larry Page and wife Deborah of Southlake,and daughter Janet Page of Mesquite.Her grandchildren include Ben Williams, Micah Pardun, Hogan Page, Cooper Page and Davis Page. Surviving siblings include; Walter Woodruff of Dallas, Troyce Woodruff of Celeste, Gladys McBride of Edgewood, and Nita Wilson of Mesquite Mrs. Page was a devoted member of the First Presbyterian Church of Mesquite, where her private service will be held on Wednesday, January 23.She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Reid & Bud Woodruff and Sister Ethel Luckey.
