SWEENEY, Larry, loving husband, daddy and pawpaw, born June 18, 1946, made heaven his home on March 11, 2005, after a long battle w/emphysema.He was preceded in death by his son, Mitchell Edward Leroy Sweeney, and his parents, Carl Sweeney and Nell Lewis.He is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Elaine Sweeney of Dallas; daughters & son-in-law, Lori & Robert Overton of Balch Springs and Ashlee Sweeney of Dallas; 2 grandsons, Garrett & Dalton Overton of Balch Springs; brothers & sisters-in-law, Carl & Wanda Sweeney of Dallas, Jimmy & Jackie Sweeney of Mesquite; sisters & brother-in-law, Ruby Chandler of Rowlett, Maline & Dexter Ragan of Corsicana, Helen Petty of Noble, OK, Judi Riggs of Macomb, OK; brothers-in-law, Mitchell Finger of Forney and Eulan Jones of Kemp; special family members, Medi Mitchell and Maye Crawford; several nieces, nephews and cousins.He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam conflict and was a butcher by trade.He was employed by Safeway for many years until their closure.He touched so many lives.When he left this life and went into the arms of Jesus, he left a huge hole in all our hearts.Services will be 11:00AM Monday, March 14, 2005, at New Hope Funeral Home Chapel.Family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday afternoon from 3:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M.
