BLACKBURN, Larry Glen of Terrell, born August 11, 1949, passed away May 16, 2011 Larry had all a man could dream of having, he was married to his best friend and wife of forty-two plus years. He brought three beautiful daughters into the world and also welcomed five amazing grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.He will be there in spirit upon the arrival of his sixth grandchild, expected to arrive in December. He was a business owner and enjoyed family life. He lived what most would consider the "American Dream". Larry touched the hearts of many people. He was respected by friends, family and business associates for his honesty, class, dignity, integrity and life long accomplishments. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1969 -1971. He was very patriotic and extremely proud of his country. He was a Design Engineer, formerly employed by Texas Instruments and former business owner of PowerTronics Equipment Company Inc and Deco Displays Inc. Some of Larry hobbies include boating, camping, listening to oldies music, reading books, especially ones about American History, WWII and The Civil War, but nothing was more precious to him than spending time with his family. Survived by wife, June Blackburn. Daughters, Shelly Lich (Ted) of New Palestine, IN, Mandy Boysen of Rowlette, TX, & Lacey Jaeckle (Jeff) of Elmo, TX. Grandchildren, Brittany & Brooke Green, Caleb, Payton & Paige Boysen and baby Jaeckle on the way. Step grandchildren, Wyatt & Bailee Lich. Siblings, Chuck Blackburn (Judy) & Glenda Crawford. And numerous nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday May 22, 2011 from 2:00PM " 4:00PM. Service will be 11:00AM Monday May 23, 2011 at New Hope Funeral Home, 500 E. Hwy. 80, Sunnyvale, TX. 75182. Interment will be 1:15PM Monday at DFW National Cemetery, Dallas, TX.
