Kyle Vance Paschall

August 17, 1968 — December 7, 2011

Paschall, Kyle Vanceborn August 17, 1968 passed away on December 7, 2011. Kyle's smile was contagious. It was adorable how when he smiled, his eyes crinkled. He had a rubber face and his heart on his sleeves - you always knew how he felt and where you stood with him. He sometimes drove me crazy (I don't think there's anyone that he didn't push all the buttons with), but it was hard to stay mad when he would smile at you and gently ask forgiveness. He was genuine. We always laughed at him; at his "Brutus" ways.... his waaaaay traditional view on men and women. ;-) But it was also this traditional view that made him such a big teddy bear. Kind and gentle with those that needed him and fiercely protective of those that he loved. In addition to the teacher in him, he had another strength... I've always told him that he really missed his calling when it came to art. He really enjoyed creating characters in D&D. Each character he made came vividly to life. Not only were his words descriptive (really? ripped off lips?), but he could also create them on the computer. He would spend hours searching the internet to find that perfect weapon or armor. The character was Frankensteined together, resized where needed, and perfectly seamless. You couldn't tell what parts were from different drawings. Shading and all. He would have the biggest grin on his face showing you his latest creation. He was like a little giddy kid; excited to show his latest work of art. Many parents love and brag on their kids. But because it came from Kyle, he meant it. Again with his heart for all to see, you knew how much he beamed with pride. It was a wonderful thing to see how involved he was with his kids. He never complained about his kids. He could get mad (what parent didn't?) or frustrated, but he never complained. I am always curious how people meet or why they fell in love. When I asked Gwen, we were all in a movie theater. I can't remember the movie, but I do remember asking her why she fell for Kyle. She said that the first time she saw Kyle, it was like, "Mmmuph!! Ooooh! What a MAN!" It was all physical =-O . Are you surprised? haha She went on to say, "Then when I got to know him, I don't know.... he's like a big teddy bear." Love is a hard emotion to describe, but I understood her. She said it perfectly. I also asked Kyle. As expected, it was the same thing.... duh :-D ... physical attraction at first. And then he said, "I've never been with a woman that liked the same things I did. We could stroll around the mall and shop all day or sit at home, just enjoying movies. It was like we matched, and I knew." It was beautiful how expressed his love. I was so happy for him. Yes, we definitely will continue to play together - all of us. Gwen can continue to get a better score in that waiter serving food game, running from table to table, Kane will continue to play Wii games with Alex, Tripp and Jack, and Amber, Jessica, and Isabelle will eventually learn how to put eyeshadow on their faces. Kyle will always be with us in Spirit. He would NEVER miss a game!
