Kerry Lee Taylor wascalled to be with the Lord on Friday, July 22, 2016.He was known and will be remembered by all as a Godly man, a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, and a caring friend. Kerry was born on March 13, 1955, in Athens, Texas, to Carlton Junior and Verna Ray Whitson Taylor.Growing up in Dallas, he finished his public schooling at W. W. Samuel High School.After graduation, he attended Dallas Baptist University and several Dallas County Community Colleges before entering the work force where he became a CAD designer. On the 14th of October, 1978, he married the love of his life, Suzanne Shipley.They have lived in Mesquite all of their married life. Kerry loved his church, C. Life-West Campus of Sunnyvale where he currently served in the Children's Ministry and as a Community Group leader.Previously, he served as a deacon and in many other capacities at several area Baptist churches.His strong Christian faith, his integrity, his love for serving others, and his kind demeanor made him a true inspiration to all who knew him. Kerry is preceded in death by his nephew Aaron Taylor. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Suzanne;his son Todd, wife Kobi, and grandchildren Laynie and Coulson of Rockwall;his son Travis of Mesquite;his parents Carl and Ray Taylor of Athens; his brother Rick and wife Mary Taylor of San Diego, California; and numerous other relatives. Visitation will be Sunday, July 24, from 3 to 5 at New Hope Funeral Home.A memorial service will be Monday, July 25 at 10:00 at C.
