Kenny Cope

Kenny Lew Cope, of Mesquite, Texas, peacefully passed away on December 31, 2023, at the age of 79. He was born on March 7, 1944, and will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Darla Cope.

The family and friends of Kenny Cope will gather to honor his memory and celebrate his life at Grove Hill Memorial Park, located at 3920 Samuell Blvd, Dallas, TX 75228. The visitation will be held at For God's Glory on January 5, 2024, at 10:00 am, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 am. The final burial will take place at Grove Hill Memorial Park on the same day at 2:30 pm.

Kenny attended Paschal High School and graduated with a Batchelor's degree from East Texas State University in Commerce, Texas. Kenny Lew Cope touched the lives of many with his kind heart, compassionate spirit, and unwavering dedication to his family and community. He leaves behind a legacy of love and integrity that will continue to inspire all those who knew him.

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, Johnnie Lou (Manis) and Lavern Cope. He is survived by his children, Kristi Cope Thielbas, Kathy Ratcliffe (Dan), Tamara Dunham (Thomas), Leonard Timmons (Courtney); grandchildren, Bethany Baalbergen (David), Kailey Ratcliffe, Joshua Ratcliffe, Kristan Taylor (Jake), Mikailan Thielbar, Natali Dunham, Katlyn Dunham, Dean Timmons, Audrie Timmons; great grandchildren, Thatcher Baalbergen, Griffin Baalbergen and joining this year, little Taylor; siblings, Rick Cope (Patty), Brinda Johnson (Joe), Ronda Cope Woodard (Brook), Gregg Cope (Kimberly) and Cindy Ponder; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Kenny's warm presence and vibrant personality will be greatly missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in eternal peace.
