Kenneth Lourn Smith, 82, passed away peacefully at his home in Dallas, TX on 02/16/2022.

Kenneth Smith was born on November 28, 1939 in Hagansport, TX, to Clonis and Dora Smith.

Kenneth married the love of his life, Betty Breland Smith, on 07/04/1959 in Hitchcock, TX . They had three children, Kenneth Smith Jr, Deborah McCormick and Sheryl Townsend.

Kenneth was best known for being a hard working family man that could build or fix anything. He was an avid gardener and fisherman. He spent his entire career working for Fox and Jacobs / Centex Homes for 43 years. After his retirement, his granddaughter Jennifer Smith, introduced him to a new passion in life curating his family tree and family history.

Kenneth was a Veteran of the United States Army and served from 1957-1959 he was stationed in Korea.

Kenneth is survived by his loving wife Betty Smith, his sister Margaret Shepard, his children Kenneth and Debbie Smith, Deborah and Lee McCormick and Sheryl Townsend. His grandchildren- Kenneth and Alicia Smith, Neil Knox, Steven Smith, Jennifer Smith and husband Matt Douglas, Kristina and Arron Sixta, Valarie Townsend, and Justin and Amanda Smith. His great grandchildren - Kenneth Dakota Smith, Rylan Smith, Braxton Knox, Maddox Smith, Alice Douglas, Sage Sixta, Gavin Douglas, Iva Sixta, and Meredith Smith.

Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents Clonis and Dora Smith, great grandson Mason Smith and multiple siblings.

A Memorial Service for Kenneth Smith will be held on Saturday, March 5th at 2:00 PM at New Hope Funeral Home - Chapel. 500 East Hwy 80 Sunnyvale, TX 75182
