Karon “Karo” Hurley died peacefully at her home in Post Oak Bend, Texas on December 7, 2018. Karon was born in Dallas, Dallas County, Texas on January 11, 1956 along with her twin sister Sharon.The twins were born to John and Lillian Hurley.Karon was raised in Balch Springs, Texas. She graduated from Mesquite High School in 1974.She worked at an insurance company in downtown Dallas for a few years.Then she worked at the Bargain Post, a weekly publication.Later, she went to work for Blue Cross/Blue Shield.Karon remained there until her retirement a few years ago. Karon is preceded in death by her parents, John and Lillian Hurley.She was also preceded in death by brothers-in-law Larry Sipes and Jerry Everett.She is survived by her three sisters:Barbara Myers, Mesquite, Texas; Deedra Sipes, Post Oak Bend, Texas; and twin, Sharon Everett, Forney, Texas.Karon’s nieces and nephews were an important part of her daily life.They are:David Myers, Shari Myers Cobb, Karla Myers; James Sipes, Danny Sipes, Brady Sipes, Janet Sipes; Chad Everett and John B. Everett.Karon’s great nephews were Zachary Myers, Colton Sipes, and Jonathan Sipes; along with her great niece, Samantha Sipes.Former brother-in-law Lloyd Myers also survives. Lloyd and Larry were the father figures for the twins for most of their young life.They gave the girls the comfort, protection and drive to face the world.In later years, Larry watched over Karon in her daily life.They were great buddies. Karon was a central figure in the family.All loved her greatly.She was a kind- hearted person who helped out anyone who was in need.She was the confidante in the family.She kept all secrets close to her heart.Everyone loved Karon.Also, she will be missed by her multitudes of friends.
