June was born on August 8, 1932and passed from this Life on August 17, 2008. She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore & Ruth Painter and child Kathy June Barnes. She is survived by her husband of 59 yearsCharles Erwin Sharp; Children, Ted Charles Sharp, Kelli Jill Elkins; Grandchildren, Jennifer Bell, Jason Tidwell, Lindsay Howell, Logan Elkins, Reese Elkins, Zachary Elkins; Great Grandchildren, Faith Howell, Cadence Howell, Madison Howell June has one sister, Betty Thurmond of El Paso, Texas. She attended school inEunice, New Mexico. June married Erwin onNovember 24, 1948 in Kermitt,TX at the age of 16 and within 3 years, they had 2 babies. Though they were busy, they had fun. They always had fun. Erwin would hide in closets and scare June and June would blow pinto beans all over the kitchen with a pressure cooker. For weeks after they played find the pinto bean . What fun they had ! 15 years later, they had another child. Soon after they began traveling. They went everywhere, several times. And loved every minute of it. They spent a lot of time in Hawaii for many years. You couldnt count the miles they went in their motorhome. The longer they were together, the more fun they had together. Erwin was the love of Junes life. He is what made her happy. After marriage at a young age, June was instrumental in the growth of her husbands career while being a devoted mother and working in the business accounting field. And she was a devoted mother. She worked hard at raising her babies and did a fine job. She was very protective and loving. Her children always said that even though she was a great Mother, she was also their best friend. Later, June acquired and operated seven Hallmark Stores over a period of 14 years (1974-1988). She had the distinction of being chosen by the Hallmark Corporation as a Gold Crown operator and appointed to the Hallmark Dealer Panel in Kansas City, MO. In 1988, after selling the Hallmark Stores, June & Erwin became Activity Directors for the Foretravel Motorhome Corporation. That entailed organizing and leading Motorhome Tours throughout the United States, including 3 tours to Alaska. The Foretravel Motorcade Club members became a second family to June. It was often said that June loved to laugh and have fun. In 2007 she was forced to retire due to her health. After enduring many surgeries during her later years of life, she was finally defeated by complications from pneumonia.
