Judy Preston

Judy Carol Preston, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on March 22, 2025, at the age of 74. Born on May 24, 1950, in Longview, Texas eventually settling in Royse City. Judy lived for her family, embracing the titles of wife, mom, and Nonnie with immense pride. Her faith in the Lord was a cornerstone in her life, and she is now rejoicing in heaven, embraced by His love.

Judy married the love of her life, Paul Preston, on April 13, 1968. After dating for a short time , Paul and Judy knew they wanted to be together forever. They spent 57 beautiful years together; they were truly best friend, always together. She loved being a mother to D'Lisa. D'Lisa was her world, they never went a day without talking. They enjoyed spending time together. Those who knew her best, knew her as Nonnie. Her Grandchildren Macy and Collin and great grandchildren Avery, Brooks and Carly were her pride and joy. She was so proud of her family, she was blessed.

She found joy in spending time with her family. Her favorite leisure was camping spending time outdoors. She loved being outside with all the trees and God's creation. This is something she passed down to her family, and her family will continue to live her legacy. She also enjoyed discussing history, politics and the changes she had seen from the 1950s to now. She could tell stories of what she experienced and lived. Her family will miss hearing all her stories and laughs together.

Judy's greatest gift was sharing her love for Jesus. She was a prayer warrior for so many, had a list of names she faithfully prayed for. She and her husband, Paul loved serving the Lord together. She is known for being an encourager to others, and faithfully praying for children fighting cancer and illnesses. The most important thing she wanted others to know was John 3:16, she wanted everyone to know the Lord and the gift of eternal life.

She left behind husband Paul Preston, Daughter and Son in Law D'Lisa and Mikal Christian. Granddaughter Macy and husband Brennen Bassett ; Grandson Collin Christian. Great grandchildren Avery, Brooks And Carly Bassett

Judy was preceded in death by: Her parents Travis and Gladys Shirley; her brother Douglas Shirley.

A celebration of Judy's life will be held in the coming days where family and friends will gather to remember her.
