Judy Lynn Simmons Blackman, passed away on November 24, 2023, at the age of 78, in Mesquite, TX. She was born on August 8, 1945, in Dallas, TX, to James Cordell and Verna Lee Simmons. She graduated from Adamson High School in 1963.
Judy married Allen (her soulmate) on February 14, 1964. They have 2 daughters; Christy and Darla.
Judy enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and being outside at the lake house. She along with dad were members of CAST - Couple Association of Sport Tournaments. She was also a long-time member of the Mesquite Elks Lodge. She enjoyed having lunches quarterly with her grade school friends.
Judy is survived by her brother, James "Jim" and wife Andree Simmons, daughter Christy May and husband Roy, daughter Darla Webster and husband Stephen. 3 - Grandkids, Brandi Spencer and husband Kyle, Justin May and wife Brittney, Travis Webster and wife Danielle. 6 - Great Grand Kids; Camden, Easton, Carson, Joshua, Ryder, and Emersyn.
Judy is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Clarence "Allen" Blackman; her father James Cordell Simmons, mother Verna Lee Simmons and twin newborn sons; Timmy and Jimmy Blackman.
She loved unconditionally, her hugs were plentiful and free of charge. She never met a stranger - always had a smile on her face. You never had to look for her; because you could hear her first!!
She always said.....I love you, More!!!
Visitation will be held at New Hope Funeral Home - Wednesday, November 29, 2023, from 5 pm - 8 pm.
Funeral Service will Thursday - November 30, 2023 @ 10 am also at New Hope Funeral Home.
Burial will be at a later date.
