It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Juanita O. Ramirez, a devoted mother, on January 8, 2025, at the age of seventy-eight. Juanita was born on July 8, 1946, in Lyford, TX.
Juanita is survived by her five children, Sylvia E. Garcia, Lily Garcia, Sofia J. Garcia, Efren Garcia Jr., Cynthia (Garcia) Gonzales and four grandchildren, Andrew J. Cipriano, Elizabeth M. Garcia, Efren R. Garcia, and Ava N. Gonzales. She doted on her only daughter, in-law Glenda M. Garcia and sons-in-law Pierre E. Berrard and Obed Gonzales, Jr.
Juanita was the heart of the family.
She raised her children with love and devotion in Dallas, TX. A woman of boundless generosity and selflessness, Juanita touched the lives of everyone she encountered. Her warmth and kindness radiated through everything she did. She often put others first while offering a helping hand whenever needed. As a mother, she nurtured and cared for her children with unparalleled love, ensuring that they always felt valued and supported. Juanita shared her love through food and ensured no one left her home without eating homemade tortillas de harina or quesadillas con un chile de amor.
As a devout Catholic woman, Juanita found strength and solace in her beliefs. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and providing her with the resilience to face life's challenges. She lived her faith through prayer and her deeds, embodying the values of love, kindness, and humility.
Juanita was a social butterfly, gracing every gathering with her infectious laughter and joyful spirit. Her ability to connect with others, to make people feel seen and heard, was one of the many gifts that made her so special. Her friendships were deep, lasting, and full of meaning-she had a heart that knew no limits and was an abuelita to many kids in the neighborhood.
Those who had the privilege of knowing her will remember her not only for her immense love and generosity but also for her bright smile, and the light she brought into every room. She lived her life with grace and compassion, leaving behind a legacy of love that will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
Her love extended beyond people; she had a profound connection with animals. Throughout her colorful life, she cared for various animals, including birds, rabbits, hamsters, ducks, cats, and dogs. Her beloved chiweenie dog, Lola, has been her companion for the last 15 years.
As we reflect on her life, let us remember the countless ways she brought joy and love into our lives. Juanita taught us the importance of cherishing our loved ones, extending kindness to all, and living with courage, empathy, and generosity.
