Juan (Johnny) Otero

Johnny Otero formerly of Los Chavez, New Mexico and more recently of Forney, Texas, passed from this life into the hands of our Lord on Saturday, August 2, 2008. Johnny was born on January 5, 1939 in Tome, New Mexico to Cosme and Lucy Otero. He was preceded in death by his father, Cosme Otero; mother, Lucy Otero; sister, Judy Romero; brother, Eloy Otero. Survived by his wife, Frances S. Otero; son, Roger Otero; daughter, Lucille Otero; daughter Debra Chavez; son, Charles E. Holt and wife Diane; daughter, Lucia Baca; daughter; Melody Baca and fianc Dave; sister, Nancy Otero and husband Milkey; brother, Tony Otero and wife Marilyn; sister, Hope Otero and husband Joe. Also survived by grandchildren: Christopher Otero, Justin Luna, Daniel Luna, Penny Valdez and husband Phillip, Paul Baca, Danielle Baca, Victoria Baca, Monique Chavez, Kimberly Baca and fianc Greg, Clifford Jones, Thomas Baca, Joseph Fat Rat Baca, Charles C. Holt, Dominic Holt, Alexis Angel Holt. Survived by the following great-grandchildren: Aspen Motorcycle Moreno-Sanchez, Sahvanna Valdez, Ethan Chiefy Valdez, Andres Cowboy Baca, Alejandra Princess Raminez, Avery Cupcake Pesina, and Tristyn Dear. Johnny graduated from Los Lunas High School and attended the University of New Mexico. Also, he proudly served in our United States Army. He was an employee at Sandia Base where he worked in computer security and retired in 1995. He was also employed with Los Lunas Schools. Johnny enjoyed attending his grandchildrens sporting events and spending quality time with family. Services will be at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, August 6, 2008 with interment at the DFW National Cemetery at 1:00 PM. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM with Rosary service at 7:00 PM.
