JOYCE ANN MARSHALL WISER resided in Forney, Texas for almost 37 years, and for the last 5 years was a resident at C.C. Young Nursing Home, Dallas, Texas. Joyce was born on October 31st, 1936, in New Hope, Texas and went to rest in her heavenly home on September 9, 2009. The last few months were extremely difficult for Joyce, and she faced new struggles, complications and challenges almost daily. She fought a very long hard battle with courage and dignity until the end. New Hope, Texas has since been annexed to Mesquite City limits. The frame house where Joyce was born was just recently demolished at the beginning of August, 2009, although it had stood vacant for many years. It was located on the southeast corner of Highway 80 and Galloway Avenue in Mesquite. She is the granddaughter of two (2) pioneering families " The Marshalls from the Mesquite area and the Harts from the northeast White Rock area of Dallas. Both had farms and acreages that were sold in the mid 50s. The land has now been developed into businesses, schools and homes. She was raised in Dallas by her parents, Leonard and Allie Marshall, both of whom predeceased her. Additionally, she is also predeceased by her husband, her maternal and paternal grandparents, aunts, uncles, two sisters and one niece. Joyce graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1955. On Valentines Day in 1957, she married her husband, Melvin "Doodlebug" Wiser. Together they built their dream home and moved to Forney, Texas in 1969. One of her favorite past times was decorating her home. She was a member of the Forney Church of Christ in more recent years, and previously was a long-time member of White Rock Church of Christ in Dallas. She was also active in the United Way Campaign. Joyce served as President of the Dallas Credit Women's Association. She delighted in entertaining and was known and admired for her beautiful parties, teas and showers. She is survived by daughter, Brenda Wiser, grandaughter - April Norris; 2 great grandchildren - Johnothan and Ashley, sister Gracelee Moran, Niece - Lee Ann Hooper and husband, Rick, Nephew - Les Bell and his wife, Pam, along with several other nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends. Joyce considered herself to be especially blessed to have the devoted friendship and love of Mrs. Nellie Ortez, Mrs. Beulah Pinson and Mrs. Carol Berendt, who also survive her. The family would like to acknowledge and give special thanks to Dr. Bob Hillert, Dr. Robert Campbell and Dr. Angela McKay for their excellent care and expertise over the years. Additionally, the family would like to thank the staff at Doctor's Hospital, Season's Hospice and CC Young. The family also would like to recognize and give thanks to Edita, Tesafe, Meti, Tappi, Eunice, Renee and several others for their loving care and beautiful friendship. Although, the friends and loved ones that Joyce leaves behind will miss her deeply, they also know she has family and friends waiting to welcome her in her heavenly home.
