In Loving Memory and with much appreciation, we celebrate the life of Joyce Evans Wise, 89, who went home to be with her LORD and Savior, Jesus Christ, on November 24, 2024. Joyce was born on September 2, 1935, in Dallas, Texas, to William Robert Evans, Jr. and Evelyn Wood Evans.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clarence Wise; brother, W.R. Evans, lll; sister, Susie Evans; granddaughter, Christy Wise, and grandson, Clay Dawson.
She is survived by her children - Mark Wise and wife, Phyllis; Karen Wise Vess and husband, Jim; Alice Wise; Andy Wise and Kathy Starnes; and Patricia Wise Null and husband, Glen; and step-son Larry Daniels and wife, Donice; grandchildren: Shelly Wise; Hailey Rivera and husband, RV; Daniel Wise and wife, Greta; Caleb Culver; Emily Dosier and husband, David; Stephen Vess; Amanda Wellman and husband, Jared; Cathryn Harris; Sarah Wise; Jas Lyons and wife, Jennifer; Brittany Rutter and husband, Jamie; and 19 great grandchildren; brother, Gene Evans, and wife, Paula; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School. Clarence and Joyce married in 1955 and celebrated 62 years of marriage before his death in 2017. Joyce loved spending time with family, vacationing in Colorado, snow skiing, attending church, but above all being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a long time member of Lakeridge Bible Church in Mesquite. Joyce loved reading her Bible and began each day in devotion and prayer. She raised her children to know Christ and have a strong Christian foundation by sending them to Christian schools.She and her husband, Clarence, owned and operated the Wise Circle Grill Restaurant in Garland. Joyce Wise was a strong woman with deep faith, great determination, devotion to family, integrity, and sharp wit. She stood firmly on God's promises. She loved her family dearly and set such an extraordinary example of a loving, nurturing, devoted wife and mother. Though we will dearly miss our precious Mother and Nana, we rejoice and celebrate her arrival into the Heavenly Kingdom....a place she truly looked forward to entering. A graveside service and burial will be held at Four Mile Community Cemetery, Prairievillle, Texas on Friday, November 29, 2024 at 1:00pm.
