Mrs. Joyce Ross, age 68, passed away on December 14, 2022.
Joyce was born in Cyril, OK to Richard Short and Vina Short. Joyce married William Ross of Mesquite, Texas on June 25, 1971 in Mesquite, Texas. She was a devoted mother, a Christian wife, and her husband's best friend.
She died at the hospital with her husband by her side. She leaves behind her husband, Bill, her two daughters, Angela and JoAnn, two son-in-laws, Jason and Daniel, grandson, Hunter, granddaughter, Emma, and 3 brothers, Rick, Roger and Mike.
Joyce was a believer in Jesus Christ and loved to pray for anyone who needed it, including complete strangers in the grocery stores. In her free time, she spent time with her husband and family, watching movies and murder mysteries, and of course her favorite show- The Voice. She loved listening to Blake Shelton and the contestants on The Voice, her gospel music, and teaching tapes on the Word of God. Playing the tambourine, dancing and singing worship songs were her favorite thing to do. She even gave herself the nickname, "Joyful Joyce" because she was always giving praise to God.
Joyce loved kids and would babysit anyone who needed it. In fact, that was her real job for years. She also loved talking about the Lord with anyone who wanted to listen.
She was preceded in death by Richard Short (Father), Vina Short (Mother), and Edward Gibbs (Step-Father).
