Obituary for Joseph Cy Jones. August 24, 1946 – November 21, 2017 Joseph “Joe” Jones of Richardson, Texas, passed away at home on November 21, 2017, after an extended illness. Joe was born in Fort Worth on August 24, 1946, where he lived until enlisting in the Army in 1968. He was a proud Vietnam War veteran. Following his military service, he graduated from North Texas State University, now UNT. All his life Joe had a love of motorcycle and car racing and all kinds of music. He was an avid supporter of Uncle Calvin’s Coffeehouse and opened his home for musicians and house concerts for many years. Joe is survived by his brother, R. David Jones and his wife, Sherri; longtime companion Debi Masterson, as well as many friends and neighbors. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Elzie Jones and Mary Nelle Jones, and his brother, James Jones. Funeral service and interment will be Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, on Friday, December 1, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial to the American Heart Association in his memory.
