Jonny Adam Powell

Jonny Adam Powell, age 31, of Terrell, TX went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 24, 2019. Jonny was born on March 15, 1988 to Jonny L. Powell & Misty R. Swinney in Louisville, KY. From a very young age Jonny had a love for basketball and dogs.He grew to be an extremely talented player and could train a dog to do just about anything.He spent many days in his parents’ driveway shooting hoops with his dad and sister.He loved to swim, fish, and ride dirt bikes. He always had a smile for everyone. However, his greatest passion was for his family. Jonny married Amber Dill on February 7, 2017. He has four children: Kylee Nicole Saldana, Brantley Adam Powell, Presley Renee Powell and Kinsley Leeann Powell. He spent many hours just playing with his kids. He instilled in them a love for Jesus, family, and of course, basketball. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Charlotte Curtis, Betty Black and Richard Powell and his Uncle Ricky Powell. He is survived by his wife, Amber Powell, and his children, Kylee Nicole Saldana, Brantley Adam Powell, Presley Renee Powell and Kinsley LeeAnn Powell. His parents, Misty Swinney (Russ) of Forney, TX, and Jonny L. Powell (Nobika) of Jeffersonville IN, his sister, Desiree LeeAnn Powell of Plano, TX., grandparents, W.J. Winsett (Glenda) of Paris, TN and Marie Kelly (Frank) of Arp, TX., uncles and aunts, Joel Winsett of Jeffersonville, IN, Brandi Foster (Kevin) of Forney, TX, Lisa Black (Larry) of Pekin, IN, Angela Andrews (Jeff) of Menomonie, Wisconsin and Mari Coyle (Mike) of Jeffersonville, IN and step siblings, Amy Anderson (C.J) of Tyler, TX, Andra Swinney of Tyler, TX, and Russell Swinney Jr. (Tiffany) of Royse City, TX. The viewing will be at New Hope Funeral Home in Sunnyvale, Texas on November 26th from 5:00-7:00 pm.The funeral will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at Christ Gospel Church at 1007 Barnes Bridge Rd, Mesquite, TX 75150 at 11:00 am with a viewing to begin at 10:00 am.His final resting place will be at Elkins Cemetery in Omen, Texas on Wednesday, November 27, 2019.
