POWELL, Johnny A. of Mesquite, TX. born November 23, 1931, passed away April 27, 2004.He was a retired Mesquite Police sargent & a veteran of the Korean war. He was preceded in death by parents, John & Edna Powell; brother, Ray Powell. Johnny is survived by his wife of 44 years, Barbara Powell; daughter, Nancy Powell; daughter, Deeann Chisholm & husband, Russ; son, Michael & wife, Alma Powell; daughter, Sandy Hartzell & husband Randy; son, Stephen & wife, Lorraine Powell; grandchildren, Lee Eudy, Emily Chisholm &Sam Chisholm, Cathy Powell; Cinthia Powell, John Michael Powell & Tabitha Hartzell, Stephen Dean Hartzell & Kristen Powell; brother, Sidney & wife, Dorothy Powell. Services will be 9:30 am Friday, April 30, 2004, at the Divine Mercy of Our Lord Catholic Church, 1819 North Galloway, Mesquite, TX. 75149. Family will receive friends at the New Hope Funeral Home in Sunnyvale, TX. Thursday evening from 6:00PM - 9:00PM. Catholic Wake will be at 6:30 Thursday evening. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Divine Mercy of Our Lord Catholic Church Building Fund or the charity of your choice. Interment will be at 12:00 Noon Friday April 30, 2004. The family will gather in "Lane A" at the DFW National Cemetery in Dallas, TX.
