John Edward Wilson

John E. Wilson, born Sept. 1, 1933 passed to his heavenly home the morning of May 24, 2016. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Lillie Wilson and daughters (“the girls”) Judith and Donna, along with his sister and brother-in-law Bill and Betty Nyenhuis, sisters-in-law Martha Hartley and Linda Jennings, and extended family members including Jim and Edith Cantrell as well as numerous nieces and nephews. John served his country in the US Airforce from 1952-1956, serving two of those years in Alaska.He sold automotive tools for many years and his customers became his friends. In semi-retirement, he enjoyed wood-turning and selling at craft shows. He was a long-time member of Eastridge Park Christian Church. The family will receive visitors on Thursday, May 26 from 5-7PM at New Hope Funeral Home in Sunnyvale. A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 27 at 10AM at DFW National Cemetery, with a memorial service at New Hope Funeral Home in Sunnyvale at 2PM that afternoon. If desired, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Eastridge Park Christian Church in Mesquite or Patriot PAWS in Rockwall.Condolences may be offered at www.newhopefh.com
