John May

MAY, John Edward, born December 9, 1959 in Gary, Indiana to Leo and Leona (Johnson) May, died on Thursday, October 28, 2004 in Dallas, TX. at the age of 44.John grew up in Griffith, Indiana with his four brothers, Daniel, Thomas, Charles and Timothy.After high school, John became a journeyman carpenter and worked in this occupation throughout his life. His wife of 17 years, Rebecca Jean (Sweeney) survives John.They were married on May 2, 1987 in Crown Point, Indiana.They lived in Highland, Indiana until their move to Texas in December 1993.No children were born to this union. A daughter from a previous marriage also survives.Crystal Marie (May) Heuer resides in Lowell, Indiana with her husband, Byron, and three children, Jonathan, Alissa, and Joey.Two brothers, Charles and Timothy (Sandra) one Aunt Leona and several nieces & nephews also mourn John's death.John is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Robert, Thomas and Daniel. A memorial service for John was held at the Knipers Funeral Home in Highland, Indiana on Sunday, November 7, 2004 at 3:00PM.Those who knew John will miss his smile and soft words and sense of humor.He was a good-hearted man with a gentle nature who suffered poor health for several years and now rests in comfort and peace. He will be deeply missed.
