John (Johnny) was born in Dallas, Texas on 11 January 1939, the twin brother of Dan.He attended Pleasant Grove High School and graduated with the first graduating class of W.W. Samuell High School in 1957.He played varsity sports but excelled in basketball and tennis. He worked for over 40 years as an electrician, mostly at ACME Electric Service in Oak Cliff , Texas.Johnny loved to hunt and fish with a close knit group of friends and family.He especially enjoyed creating, fixing, and building.Some of his constructs and projects included travel trailers, automatic hunting feeders, compound bows, hunting stands, and meat smokers.There was no project too complex or daunting that would dissuade him. On many nights, the Dallas Police would have to drop by and remind Johnny that it was 2:00 AM and he needed to shut down the garage project and call it a night.He was a rabid fan of the SMU Mustangs, Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Stars, and Texas Rangers. When his kids were young, he coached them in baseball, basketball, and football, but he supported them in all of their interests.He loved all animals and had a voracious appetite for knowledge, especially animals of all species. He and his wife of 53 years, Janie, above all things, loved spending time with their friends and family.
