Mr. John Joseph was born on March 5th, 1941, at Vatttackattu House Kodukulanji is the 3rd son of Mr. John Abraham and Mrs. Saramma John. His father worked as a Headmaster and his mother a teacher in various schools managed by the Church of South India.
When John Joseph was 3 years old, his father passed away and when he was 6 years old, the Lord called his mother home too, leaving the three sons aged 16, 10, and 6. You can imagine the hard life the boys lead without parents at a young age. The older son joined the Indian Military at 16 to support himself and his brothers. The older brother married at 21 when he came on vacation from the military. Then on, his 18-year-old sister-in-law took care of the two brothers. After the brother's return from the military, the family moved to Peerumade. Thus, John Joseph's schooling started in Kodukulanji and was completed in Peerumade.
After schooling, John Joseph moved to the Andaman Islands to look for a job or do further studies as his second brother worked there. There he studied nursing and homeopathy and worked for a few years. After that, John Joseph returned to Peerumade and worked as a nurse in one of the estates there, namely, Anakuzhy estate.
While working there, he married his wife of 50 years, Mrs. Susie Joseph. Soon after, the couple moved to Muscat, Philadelphia, Florida, and Dallas. In Philadelphia, he opened up a business. In Florida, he owned and operated his gas station. In Dallas, he was an employee of the Ford Motor Company. He also flipped houses and dabbled a little in gambling. He was blessed with two children, the late Samuel and Veena Joseph. He persevered through the passing of his loving wife Susy.
The passing of his children devastated him, but he stayed strong for his grandchildren. Now his memory lives on in their hearts.
