John H. Lee

December 5, 1955 — November 19, 2022

John Henry Lee, 66, passed away on November 19, 2022, in Rowlett, TX. John Henry Lee was born on December 5, 1955 in San Angelo, TX, and was eventually adopted by his parents Robert E. and Eva Dell Lee. He graduated from W. W. Samuel in 1974, and served in the Air Force during that same year. He went on to find his career calling in transportation, and worked his way into senior management at D.A.R.T. as a Senior Manager over bus and Light Rail Divisions. After 29 years, he retired from D.A.R.T. and spent a few years in California then Cincinnati with a private transportation contractor, Transdev. John Henry married Cheryl Lee in Dallas on Dec 28, 1974. That was a busy year for him! The couple has two children, Dr. John Cody Lee and Laura Huffman, and two grandchildren, Eva Huffman and Landry Lee. John Henry’s family circle extended to his many close friendships, which arose from his time at D.A.R.T. and Transdev, as well as through his hobbies which included fishing, hunting, golf, riding motorcycles, and many, many more. John H. is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Mark and Bruce Lee. He is survived by his wife, both kids, both grandchildren and numerous cousins. Visitation: Tuesday, November 22 from 6:00-8:00pm Memorial Service: Wednesday, November 23 at 10:00a.m. The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society paid a significant portion of the cost for one of John’s most important (and expensive) medications. In lieu of flowers, we ask that his friends make donations to that foundation so that we may help them do the same for someone else. That can be done at www.ILOF.com (In Lieu Of Flowers) by selecting John’s name.
