John Lee Bonner was born on April 25, 1927, Son of Irvin Hunter Bonner and Mary Lucille (Garrett) Bonner. Dad grew up in the Fairfield area. He served in the Pacific Theater late in WWII assigned to the China Marine Force which was the group formed to invade Japan. The war ended before the invasion and he returned to the states working with a surveyor crew, railroad brakeman, traveled to Alaska working on a Tug Boat. Later he attended Mortuary College and was licensed as a Funeral Director. He also was a Deputy Sheriff for several years in Wichita Falls with additional stops along the way as owner of a Funeral Home Robstown Texas, Security Officer on Kwajalein Island for the Air Force and finally stopping with the Bureau of Prisons at Seagoville. During his BOP career he transferred to Lompoc CA and later back to Seagoville FCI, retiring as Lieutenant in the '80s. He has been a member of the Fairfield Masonic Lodge No 108 for over 50 years and is also member of the Scottish Rite Body. John Lee is survived by his wife Frances Colene Bonner; his only sibling sister Lillian Faye Innmon and her spouse Carroll James Innmon, children of John Lee are, John Randall Bonner, Ronald Melvin Bonner, Rhonda Margaret Bonner, and grandchildren John Raymond Bonner. Family visitation will be 9:00AM to 11:00 AM Monday at the funeral home.
