Jimmy G Jenkins

Jimmy G. Jenkins was born on June 27, 1939 and passed away on June 23, 2017. Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents: Espy and Opal Jenkins; brother, Bobby Frank Jenkins; sister-in-law, Joyce Jenkins; nephew, Larry Jenkins and niece, Brenda Hagens. Jimmy is survived by his wife, Linda L. Jenkins; children: Sherri Jenkins Russell, Jimmy G. Jenkins II; grandchildren: Paige Hubert, Bethany Prachyl, Lisa Bumbardner, Derek Jenkins, Ashely Jenkins; nieces, Pam Thomasson, Pat Tidwell, and nephew, Ronnie Jenkins. Jimmy served the Dallas Fire Department from 1959-1990. After retiring in 1990, he joined the Honor Guard for the Dallas Fire Department and continued to take care of his family. His after retirement hobbies included fishing at the lake, fishing at the coast and more fishing.Jimmy loved being with his family and friends and cherished every moment. For those who knew him, Jimmy Jenkins was a rare and special man that put others before himself. He will be so dearly missed. A visitation will be held for Jimmy on Monday June 26, 2017 from 5:00PM-7:00PM at New Hope Funeral Home in Sunnyvale, Texas. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday June 27, 2017 at 10:00AM at Shiloh Terrace Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas with interment to follow at 1:30PM at Kemp Cemetery. In lieu of flowers family request that donations be made to the Dallas Retired Firefighters Association Honor Guard.
