Jimmy Dossett Donald James Jimmy Dossett, born September 10, 1944, lost his strong fight with prostate cancer on April 13, 2013. Jimmy is preceded in death by his father, Edwin G. Dossett, Senior and brother Ed Junior. He is survived by his wife Barbara Dianne Dossett, daughter Cori, mother Margaret Fortner Langbein, brother Dennis Lee Dossett, and many friends and extended family. Born and raised in Dallas, Jimmy graduated from Bryan Adams High School in 1963. By the time Jimmy was a teenager, he was already a survivor, having won a battle with polio at the age of five. The life-saving efforts he received led to his life-long support of Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children. After high school, Jimmy attended Tyler Junior College and went to work for Dallas Heating. After several years, Jimmy began his own air conditioning/mechanical contracting company, Dynamic Mechanical, which he led almost 40 years, until his retirement just a few years ago. Jimmy loved living in Forney, Texas, his home for almost the past thirty years. From raising cattle to catfish, Jimmy was an outdoorsman at heart, and cultivated and grew his beloved home, Cypress Farm Ranch. Jimmy loved spending time in the outdoors, and relished in the many hunting and fishing trips he took with his buddies over the years. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles. Jimmy, Barbara and friends put many miles on their hogs together. Jimmy had one daughter, Cori, with former wife June Wilson Zauber. He married his loving wife Barbara Dianne Duke in 2006, and welcomed two stepdaughters into the family " Amy Dianne Simmons and Laura Anne Alexander. The family would like to extend thanks to the staff of Texas Oncology at Baylors Sammons Center, especially Dr. Thomas Hutson and nurses Lori Andrews and Margaret Yusufu. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2013, 5:00 " 7:00pm, at New Hope Funeral Home, Sunnyvale, TX. A service will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at New Hope Funeral Home, Sunnyvale, TX, at noon, followed by internment at Restland in Dallas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in memory of Jimmy Dossett.
