After living a long and meaningful life, Jesse James “Jim” Vick passed away peacefully February 20, 2018,at the age of 91.Jim is survived by his wife of 45 years, Barbara Vick; children Paul Langston, Amy Vick, Cindy Vick Tramel, and Jana Langston, Brother Aubrey Vick, and his Aunt Alma Fay Vick Hargrove. His daughter Nina Vick proceeded him in death in 1970.Also preceding him death are his siblings, Evelyn Brooks, Wilbur “Buddy” Vick, Irma Fay Fifer, and Helen Craven. Jim is also survived by his 13 grandchildren – Melinda, Alinda, Joseph, and Ashley Langston, Randy, Marci and Jason Floyd; Matthew, Kyle, Weston and Dylan Tramel; Joe and Logan Langston, and 13 great grandchildren. Jim was born October 12, 1926, in Kaufman County to Jesse and Velma Vick. He proudly served in the Navy during WWII.He was an accomplished hunter, trapper, and fisherman; and had a passion for the great outdoors.A natural born entrepreneur, he started his own business in the sporting goods field, creating his own proprietary line of VICCO products which him and his wife sold throughout Dallas and surrounding areas. Visitation is scheduled for Saturday February 24, 2018, 1:00-3:00pm; funeral series on Monday February 26th at 10:00am, at New Hope Funeral Home 500 US 80 Sunnyvale, TX; burial will be at Grove Hill Cemetery All Friends and Family are welcome to attend and celebrate Jim’s life.
