On Friday, August 26, 2022, Jesse Daniel Murphy of Mesquite, TX, went to be with his Lord and Savior at the age of seventy.
Dan was hard working, fun, caring, never tired of conversation, and never met a stranger. He loved watching sports and westerns, playing golf, and Saturday yard work.
He loved his family and friends deeply. He enjoyed family time by the pool, grilling, beach vacations, and holiday dinners. He was so proud of his children. His grandchildren were his joy and they too adored him.
Dan and Elouise recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary and Dan's retirement from 49 years of bank operations with Affiliated Bank. An avid bass player and singer, Dan lead his church, Christian Center in Mesquite, TX, in worship for 16 years. Dan was also known for his integrity, generous spirit, and playful humor.
He is survived by his wife, Elouise, of Mesquite, TX, daughter, Paige Terrell, and her husband, Will of Dallas, TX, daughter, Jessica Roper, and her husband, Matt, and their sons, Austin, Gavin, Kadin, and Hudson of Las Vegas, NV, and son, Chase Murphy and his wife, Anna. Chase and Anna gave Dan his beloved three grandchildren Claire, Cole, and Catherine, all of whom live in his family homestead in Bivins, TX. Dan also leaves behind a sister, Charlotte Baxter and her husband Joe, a brother, David Murphy, and his wife Cheryl, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Belle Murphy and father, J.W. Murphy of Bivins, TX.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at 11 am. at Christian Center in Mesquite, TX followed by a graveside service at New Hope Memorial Gardens in Sunnyvale. Visitation will be Monday, August 29th, 6 pm - 8 pm at New Hope.
