Jesse Neal Hunter

Jesse Neal Hunter was born September 15, 1939 in Ryan, OK. He went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 21, 2019 in Terrell, TX. Neal was a long time resident of Forney, TX. At the young age of 18 years old, Neal went to work for the Dallas Fire Department. His young age earned him the nickname “Junior Hunter”. In 1975, he married Martha (Marty) and they were married 44 years until his passing. Neal served as a Fireman for 31 years and retired in 1989. At that time he and Marty traveled and visited most of the 50 states. They also enjoyed dancing and spending time with their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Neal is preceded in death by his parents, Gladys and Jess Hunter, and sister, Oneta Richeson. He is survived by his wife, Martha and a sister, Ellen Rieger, and sons, Kevin (Libby) and Gary (Mel) and daughter Karen Linares (Ralph) and grandsons, Ben, Dan and Will. He is also survived by 3 step children, Teri DeWitt (Greg), Brenda Latimer and Tracy Latimer (Lori). He was Papa Neal to step grandchildren Kyle Riggs, Jessica Pierson (Jason), Rebecca Putney (Dave) and Rachel Hardy (DJ). A family visitation will be held at New Hope Funeral Home in Sunnyvale, TX on Friday, August 23, 2019 at 7pm. And funeral service will be at 10am on Saturday, August 24 at the Chapel of New Hope Funeral Home followed by graveside service and final call ceremony at Hillcrest Cemetery in Forney, TX. Honoring Neal as Pallbearers are grandsons, Ben Hunter, Dan Hunter, Will Hunter, Kyle Riggs, Dave Putney, Jason Pierson and D.J. Hardy.
