ENGLISH, Jesse Wayne of Forney, born July 8, 1930, passed away August 6, 2008. Survived by wife of 57 years, Betty; daughters, Dianne Cunningham & husband, Steve, Jeana Beth English all of Forney; grandson, Kyle Chapman & wife, Alecia of Crosby; granddaughter, Jessica Chapman of Tyler; great granddaughter, Isabella Chapman of Crosby, 3 sisters; 3 brothers and a host of friends. Service will be 11:00AM Saturday August 9, 2008 at First Baptist Church of Forney, 1003 FM 741, Forney, TX. Visitation will be Friday evening at the funeral homefrom 6:00PM- 8:00PM. Memorials may be made to the Kaufman County VNA, 102 W. Grove, Kaufman, TX. 75142 or the Alzheimers Association. Preceded in death by parents Joe and Lillian English along with 2 sisters, 1 brother and 10 half brothers and sisters. Jesse was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Korean Conflict specializing in morse code. Jesse was born in Alba Texas and moved to Forney upon completion of his military service. Hiscontribution to the City ofForney includedserving asa trustee of the Forney ISD, a member of the Forney Fire Department and a member of the Forney City Council. He worked for Nabisco for 25 years, having never missed a single day of work. He later started his own business, English Institutional Food Service. Upon "Retirement" he had the Handy ManService, which as you can imagine included a variety of jobs. Jesse's true devotion was to his Lord Jesus Christ and to his membership at The First Baptist Church of Forney. He was ordained as a deacon on the same Sunday that he and Betty celebrated their 24th wedding anniversary. He was a deacon for 34 years. He served on numerous committees and held countless positions throughout his service to the church.
