Jerri Poff

July 6, 1944 — March 30, 2025

Jerri Nell Poff (Warren), born on July 6, 1944, in Roaring Springs, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2025, in Wills Point, Texas, at the age of 80, after a courageous battle with FTD. A dedicated psychotherapist, Jerri made significant contributions to the mental health field, positively impacting the lives of many throughout her forty-plus-year career.

An avid gardener, Jerri found joy and solace in nurturing her plants and creating beautiful outdoor spaces. Her love for the arts, a testament to her vibrant spirit, was evident as she frequently danced and attended acting classes. She also enjoyed spending time at the theater, where she delighted in stories that transported her to different worlds.

Jerri is survived by her beloved daughter, Jesse Van Genderen, and her wife, Terri; her cherished granddaughter, Dally Van Genderen; her sister, Kathy Brooks, and her husband, Charles; and her sister-in-law, Patsy Binder. She also leaves behind nieces and a nephew, Donna Kay Solt, Tanya Fulton, and Joe Don Warren, as well as numerous great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews, who will all deeply miss her presence in their lives. Jerri's warmth, passion, and dedication to her family and profession will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.

Jerri was preceded in death by her parents, Tressie and Ray Warren, and her brother, Don Warren. We are deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Simmons University's College of Social Work in Boston, Massachusetts, which was close to her heart.
