Jeremy Benjamin Lyon, age 46, passed away at home in Mesquite, Texas, on December 2, 2024. He was born on July 3, 1978 in Dallas, Texas to William Derrel and Vickie King Lyon.
Jeremy was a 1996 honors graduate of Mesquite High School where he played clarinet in the Mighty Maroon Band. In the years afterward, he worked in retail until he started work as tour manager at the Sixth Floor Museum in Dallas. With his parents facing heath issues, Jeremy became their full time and loving caretaker. He saw to their every need along with transporting them to their many doctor appointments.
Being an avid reader, Jeremy was self-taught in many subjects of study. He enjoyed listening to classical music and composed many songs himself. One his most favorite hobbies was working in and maintaining a beautiful flower garden. With his knowledge of plants, Jeremy loved to help his sister get started in gardening.
Jeremy is survived by his parents, Derrel and Vickie Lyon of Mesquite, Texas; and his sister, Carrie Lyon Wattenbarger and her husband Scott of Carrollton, Texas. Jeremy was very loved and will be greatly missed.
A public visitation will be held on Friday, December 20, 2024, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at New Hope Funeral Home in Sunnyvale, Texas.
