Jennifer Leigh (Bridges) Rodriguez

June 5, 1976 — November 4, 2020

Jennifer Leigh Rodriguez was born June 15, 1976 in Dallas, TX to Louis & Ernestine Bridges, and went to be with her Lord on Wednesday morning November 04, 2020.  Jennifer, or Leigh, as know to those who worked with her, was preceded in death by her mother Ernestine Bridges, brother Martin Peterson, and nephew Trace Thornton. She is survived by her husband Samuel Rodriguez Jr, daughters Alexis and Elizabeth, father Louis Bridges Jr, sister Nina Thornton, brother John Bridges, nephews Benjamin Peterson and Noah Bridges. She was a dedicated wife, and loving mother to beautiful twin girls, Alexis and Elizabeth.

Jennifer grew up in Mesquite, TX. She graduated from North Mesquite High school in 1994 near the top of her class. She went on to attend Texas A&M University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. She was the consummate professional at work, and her impressive career started at a “Big 4” accounting firm where she earned her CPA. From there she joined an oil exploration company, where she led an international team, and traveled extensively visiting places such as Scotland, Australia, Tunisia, India to name a few. Most recently, Jennifer was a Vice President of Accounting for a luxury hotel firm.

As a child, Jennifer spent every summer with her family at the ancestral home in Crystal Springs, MS, and later shared her love of the farm with her daughters. As a young adult, Jennifer was active in her church, First Baptist Mesquite, and spent many summers on mission trips with her youth group sharing her love of Christ. She was a true and charitable friend to those in times of need. Jennifer’s friends knew that they could always count on her to be loyal, fun loving, always game for anything, a great listener, selfless, creative, and truthful.

Jennifer was a dutiful daughter who loved her mother and father. Some of her father’s fondest memories of her include many mother-daughter adventures, such as taking cruises, touring the Aztec ruins in Mexico, and the many different hats she would bring from her international travels.

Jennifer’s bright smile has touched so many lives and will be dearly missed.
