Jennifer Marie Highsmith, 44, passed away October 13, 2023, at Ridgecrest Healthcare and Rehab Center in Forney, Texas. Jennifer will be laid to rest at New Hope Memorial Gardens in Sunnyvale, Texas.
Jennifer was born in San Jose, California, on March 7, 1979, to Robert Henry Highsmith II and Andrea Sue "Sue" Highsmith. Jennifer was raised in San Jose with her brother, Blake, where she attended Pioneer High School and won a silver medal for soccer in Special Olympics. Jennifer worked at Hope Services in San Jose for many years, where she made many wonderful friends. In 2018, Jennifer and Sue moved to join Blake and his family, making a new home in Forney, Texas.
Jennifer had an amazing sense of humor. With her joyful, contagious laugh, you couldn't help but smile in her presence. She was a huge fan of the San Francisco 49ers, faithfully watching their games, taking every opportunity to rib her brother when the Cowboys lost, and following the NFL. Jennifer found immense enjoyment in movies and music, amassing an unrivaled collection of VHS tapes, DVDs, and CDs. Jennifer also loved to draw, color, and do art projects.
But, most of all, Jennifer loved her family, especially Sue, and she was the light of Sue's life. She was a truly loving and caring soul, always worrying about others, and wanting to make sure they were doing well and feeling happy.
Jennifer was preceded in death by her father, Robert, and other loving family members. Jennifer is survived by her mother, Sue, her brother, Blake, and his wife, Autumn, their children Logan and Alexis Highsmith, and her uncle, David Mabrey. Jennifer also leaves behind her extended family, and Autumn's family, who she had adopted as her own, including many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Hope Services, www.hopeservices.org, an organization that has provided Jennifer and many others joy and independence.
