Jean passed peacefully from this Earth into the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, on May 19, 2023. She was surrounded by her children who are at peace knowing she has joined their Dad in heaven. Gran and D, are rejoicing together today.

Born in Bernalillo, New Mexico on March 2, 1938. She was predeceased by her husband Roy E Holt, Sr., parents Jewell Davis Shulze and James Clifton Shulze Jr., brother, James Shulze and sister Kathryn Ashenhart.

She is survived by her son Roy Edward "Eddie" Holt Jr, daughters, and sons in law Linda Jean Holt Gooch (Allen Gooch), Brinda Gay Holt Curley Dunn (Paul Dunn) and Glinda Kay Holt Nelson (Troy Nelson). Eleven Grandchildren; Jamie Nelson Willis (Bubba), Ryan Gooch (Amanda), Cory Gooch, Kellie Nelson, Kevin Curley II (Courtney), Kathleen Curley, Conor Curley, Taylor Holt (Lauren), Trey Holt, Tyler Gooch, Ty Holt. Nine Great Grandchildren; Sadie Willis, Addison Gooch, Stella Willis, Caleb Nelson, Declan Curley, Conrad Curley, Shepherd Willis, Brennan Curley, Rose Holt. Nephews and Nieces; David Shulze (Rhonda), Jimmy Shulze (Angela) and Kristin Lay. Dearest and closest friend Frankie Williams (Robert).

Jean was raised in Bonham, Texas on the family farm where she worked the fields and helped take care of her brother and sister. After graduating from Bonham High School in 1956, she moved to Dallas and worked at Superior Insurance Company where she met her lifelong soulmate, Roy. Together they built a life based on their love for Jesus Christ and their family. Jean was not just mom to her four kids; she was every kid's mom at Sunnyvale School and Long Creek Baptist Church. While raising her children she became licensed beautician and had numerous hobbies and interests including sewing/quilting/embroidery, flower arranging, painting, ceramics, cake decorating, and wedding coordinating. She also loved collecting Precious Moments, Barbie dolls and Disney figurines. She especially loved going on cruises with Roy and her family.

Once her children were in high school she started a career at Southwestern Bell where she worked for 20 years. She was a community leader serving on the Sunnyvale Board of Adjustments, President for the Sunnyvale Garden Club, County Election Judge and administrator for Long Creek Cemetery.

For nearly half of her life she was known simply as GRAN. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the light of her life. Growing up, her kids and their friends swam in their stock pond, but when her grandkids came along she insisted on getting a cement pond for the family. She passed on her hobbies and talents, along with an endless supply of knowledge about how to live a life of good character to three generations. Jean loved doing things for the kids and her Halloween parties, Easter egg hunts and Christmas celebrations were legendary.

Jean lived a long full life and was fully prepared to meet her Savior and be rejoined with Roy and her family in heaven.
