Jason Sunny Varghese

August 13, 1975 — September 27, 2021

Jason Sunny Varghese (Niju) was born in Dallas, Texas on August 13, 1975, to Christ-centered parents, the late Sunny Varghese and Saramma Varghese after 4 long years of prayer. In 1981, Jason became an older brother when Justin Varghese (Jibby) was born. Growing up, Jason was a caring and  protective older brother, always ready to help.

Jason Varghese attended Eastlake Christian School and went to Lakeview Centennial High School in Garland, Texas, graduating in 1994. He went on to do further studies as a pharmacy technician and respiratory therapist. During his later years, Jason was fortunate enough to work at Affordable Home Health Care with his family.

Jason was married on June 23, 1998, to Dolly Susan Varghese, daughter of the late C.V. Varughese and Valsamma Varughese. He was a loving husband and truly valued his family. On December 29, 2001, the  meaning of family took on a whole new definition for Jason as Abigail Varghese (Abby) was born and he became a father. As Abigail grew up, the bond between the two was very close. He always wanted to provide the best for her. They loved attending sporting events and playing games together. His daughter was his pride and joy. His strong family values also extended to taking care of his mother and in-laws. No matter the time or place, Jason was always ready to help when his parents needed it.

While growing up, Jason developed a love for music and a passion for drumming. His parents encouraged this passion, supporting him at an early age from middle school to high school. He also took drum lessons to better himself and was very active on the Crossview Church of God worship team during the church’s early years. He loved honoring God through music, whether it was playing for an English, Hindi, or Malayalam song at a church, musical concert, or a convention. He dabbled in playing the tabla, dholak, and “side” drum at cottage meetings. As the youth of Crossview became older, he stepped aside to allow a newer generation of musicians to take on those duties. He became a great teacher of music and technology. After stepping back, Jason loved laughing, talking, and being with the younger youth of Crossview. Jason loved being around people. He made it a point not to miss church functions where people could gather. He could be outgoing but also was reserved when he needed to be.

Jason departed from us suddenly on September 27, 2021, at the young age of 46. He was preceded in death by his father, Sunny Varghese. He is survived by his wife Dolly Varghese; his daughter, Abigail Varghese; his mother, Saramma Varghese; his brother, Justin Varghese; and his sister-in-law, Courtney Varghese. Though we are shocked and saddened by his death, we will cherish his legacy forever and keep his memories in our hearts. Although we miss him dearly, we find hope in Christ Jesus as we will meet him again on the other shore.
