James "Jim" Van Lehn was born on June 19, 1936, to Russell & Mildred "Faye" Van Lehn. Passed away on May 1, 2023. Jim married the love of his life, wife Emily on May 2, 1959. Together they built a beautiful family including 4 children, 6 grandchildren, 8 Great-grandchildren & 2 Great, great-grandchildren. Jim was a man of many talents. He loved serving his country as a member of the Air Force. He had several different certifications and an Associates degree in Robotics. He was very electronically inclined, including a background in tv, radio, and computers. Which included working for LTV & was part of a NASA space project that went to the moon. He was a talented artist that included paintings, drawings and airbrushing which his wife proudly displayed. He was a deep thinker with a good sense of humor, and loved fishing, watching old war movies, and westerns. Most of all, he accepted the Lord as a young child. He loved his family dearly and was a best friend to them all. Jim is survived by his brother Don Van Lehn. Children Lynda Runnels & husband Darren, Greg Van Lehn, Laurie Sitzmann & fiance Red, Kelly Vega & husband John. Grandchildren; Tracy Runnels, Tricia Coker, Brandi Van Lehn, Cory Sitzmann & wife Angela, Shayna Van Lehn & Justin, Brandon Van Lehn. Great -Grandchildren; McKenna Rose, Kaitlin, Madison, & Cassidy Ciardo, Jacob & Carlee Coker, Emery & Elaina Sitzmann, Great-Great Grandsons; Konner James & Braxton. Numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Jim is preceded in death by his beloved wife Emily, parents Russell & Faye. Visitation will be at New Hope Funeral Home Friday , May 19,2023 from 9:00 - 10:00 with service to follow at 10:00 AM. Burial will be at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery Friday May 19, 2023 @ 1 PM
