SMITH, James Ray of Forney, born September 19, 1929, passed away September 6, 2008. James owned and operated Smith Custom Equipment in Forney for many years. Preceded in death by daughter, Diane Lynn Smith; father, Lewis Smith; mother, Jodie Canipe; step-father, Clyde Canipe; step-mother, Ruby Lewis; sisters, Claudine Cannon, Anita Cotie. Survived by sister, Alice LeCroy; brother, Robert Smith; and some of the best friends a man has ever known. Service will be 10:00AM Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at New Hope Funeral Home Chapel. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday morning from 8:30AM " 10:00AM.
