James Robert Stewart. February 6, 1977-June 27, 2015. James was born in San Antonio and lived in Texas until the age of four, when his family moved to Saudi Arabia followed by Singapore and Indonesia. Living abroad influenced him throughout his life, as he loved to travel, meet new people and find the local gems of any city he visited. Most of his traveling happened in the US during the late 90’s-mid 2000’s, while he was in the telecom industry and then with the well-known band, Cross Canadian Ragweed. James would often say that some of his best memories were of the experiences he had with the friends that were on the road with him. In 2004, James started a career in marketing where he met his fiance Holly Ruth Tighe whom he currently lived with in Dallas with their mastiff, Callie. Living in Dallas meant that James was surrounded by his large fun loving family and his many close friends from all walks of life. Anyone who ever met James remembered him. He was a big, big man whose heart was even bigger & whose soul & loyalty was ten times that. In many ways, he was like the English Mastiff’s that he loved and rescued, he was fiercely loyal, protective of his family and found happiness wherever his family and friends were gathering. Especially, if these gatherings included playing poker, singing Karaoke, a costume party or cheering for the Texas Rangers, Florida Gators and Chicago Bears. Those that knew James knew that they could count on him and that he would do anything in the world for you. For better, for worse, there was no sugar coating with James. If you asked his opinion on something, you better have been prepared for an honest answer. This strength of character was often seen when the subject of sports and music came up. These were his true passions and he loved to “discuss” the finer points of rock n roll, baseball and where to find the best bars in the country. Wise beyond his years, forever an old soul, James will be missed by so many more than he even realized. His memory will be a source of confidence, laughter, and encouragement and we are forever thankful he was part of our lives. James’ friends and family will be gathering together to celebrate his life on July 16, 2015 from 3pm-6pm at the Pour House in Dallas. He is preceded in death by his father, Jerry Stewart and his grand parents as well as his cousin, Clint Barnes. James is survived by his mother, Jan Stewart and her partner Parpaul Singh Malli.
