James Melton Nabors born March 16, 1940 passed away August 28, 2019. James was born and raised in Delta County, Texas. He was raised on a farm, helping out with the animals, planting and harvesting crops and working in the hay fields. He enjoyed camping, fishing, swimming in the creeks and ponds, hunting and, on hot summer days, eating a big bowl of homemade ice cream. James loved sports and was an outstanding basketball player. He enjoyed vacationing in the mountains and on the beaches of the USA. When he moved to Dallas, TEXAS, James was employed by Sears and Citi Group for fifty years. He and his wife, Faye, of fifty-eight years of marriage have two sons; Mike Nabors and wife Pam, Brian Nabors and wife Amy, five grandchildren; Alyssa Nabors and husband Curtis, Andy Nabors and wife Elise, Amy Nabors, Rylie Nabors, and Luke Nabors, two great-grandsons; David Vaugh and Daniel Nabors, two great-granddaughters; Sasha Vaugh and Charlotte Nabors. James also had one surviving brother; David Nabors and wife Sharon, two sisters; Bonnie Spivey, Sarah Packwood and husband Frank, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. James was preceded in death by his parents Millard and Susie Nabors, as well as his brother Mark Nabors. James was a lifelong Christian, serving God by studying the Bible and teaching Sunday School for over forty-five years. He is a member of St. Phillips United Methodist church. What made James the happiest was watching his children and grandchildren serve the Lord with the talents God gave to each of them.
