James Francis Myers

January 12, 1943 — October 10, 2011

James Myers, our beloved husband, father, family member and friend passed away on Monday, October 10, 2011. Those who knew him understand that these words cannot adequately express the quiet way in which James has touched all of our lives. James was born in Jackson, Mississippi on January 12, 1943. He graduated from Hill High School, in Jackson and went on to receive his bachelor's degree from Jackson State College. James joined the United States Air Force in 1964, where after faithful service he received an honorable discharge. James then moved to Dallas where he was employed at Texas Instruments in the Information Technology department for 9 years. He then went to work for the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. After a dedicated career of more than 26 years at the Federal Reserve, he moved on to the Department of Defense Army Air Force Exchange, where he remained until his death. James is pre-deceased by his Mother & Father, and his sister, Inez. He is survived by his beloved wife, Linda, son Raymond (Ray), and his sisters, Irene from Jackson, MI and Carolyn from Chicago, IL. James is also survived by a host of cousins and nieces, along with a loving group of in-laws to include his mother-in-law, Mrs. Mildred Tolbert, his brothers-in-law, Marcus Tolbert (best man), Skip Tolbert, and sisters- in- law, Michelle Tolbert and Betty Tolbert Ruffin. James' passing leaves an unfathomable void in the hearts of those who loved him. But we know, to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Service will be 11:00AM Saturday October 15, 2011 at New Hope Funeral Home, 500 E. Hwy. 80, Sunnyvale, TX. 75182. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6:00PM - 8:00PM. Interment will be in Grove Hill Memorial Park, Dallas, TX.
