McDaniel, James David "Bo" born February 6, 1926 in Howland, TX., went to be with his Lord, August 16, 2009. Preceded in death by parents J.G. (Buster) & Emma McDaniel, sisters; Ema Lea Martin, Jane Bell and wives; Mildred and Margaret McDaniel. He is survived by his sisters; Sue Gough and Elizabeth Garrison, daughters & sons in law; Gloria (Dody)& Arthur Beeler, Beverly & James Hargrove and daughter, Shirley Spainhower. Grandchildren; Mark Beeler, Dana Wood, Jina Schaff, Wesley Spainhower, Ashley Butley & Justin Hargrove. Great Grandchildren; Sara & Payton Wood, Tate & Julia Spainhower and Rhyan & Emma Schaff. Multiple nieces & nephews, great nieces & nephews and friends. David was the 2nd of five children. After graduating high school, he joined the Navy in June of 1944 and served in World War II on the aircraft carrier, Commencement Bay. He was honorably discharged in June 1946. He worked for the Texas Midland Railroad, Southern Pacific Railroad and retired from Texas Department of Transportation. In 1951, David married Mildred Drost who passed away 3 short years later. He married Margaret Smith in June of 1966 and for over 40 years they were constant companions. Margaret went home to be with the Lord in March 2007. David will be remembered as a loving, caring individual as well as an avid artist, historian and railroad memorabilia collector. Donations can be made to your local humane or historical societies. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday August 18, 2009 from 6-8PM. Funeral Services will be held at New Hope Funeral Home on Wednesday August 19 at 3PM.
