Rev. James O. Jordan (Jim) passed away on September 23, 2022 at the age of 91 surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Dorothy Jordan, who was called home just five weeks earlier.
Born on April 25, 1931 in Navasota, TX to Columbus (Lum) and May Bell Jordan, Jim was called to preach at the young age of 16 and spent his early years ministering in churches throughout Louisiana.
With an unmatched passion for learning, Jim attended Louisiana College in Pineville, LA where he not only graduated with a Bachelors in Bible but also met the love of his life, Dorothy. The rest, as they say, is history. Jim and Dorothy soon married and began serving together in churches throughout Louisiana and Texas where they ministered, prayed with, and proclaimed the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ to thousands of people over the course of their long and fruitful ministry.
Jim's reach was not limited to Louisiana and Texas, though. He had a huge heart for missions and raised significant money and support for churches and orphanages in India as well as participating in revivals in Brazil. Countless lives across the world have been impacted for the better because of Jim Jordan.
He is survived by his son, Dr. J. Michael Jordan, daughter, Jeannie Smokoska and husband Steve, Grandson , Daniel Smokoska and wife Jessica and two great grandsons, Preston and Levi Smokoska.
He will be remembered by his family for his faith, strength, kindness, and deep love for them and for others.
